Sock Darning Egg

This is a half-egg shaped wooden block that is absolutely ideal for darning socks. Darned fabric is often not as stretchy as knitted fabric, so using something smaller, with less curve, can be better to fit inside your boots. The smaller, pointier end is great for darning toes and the more rounded bottom is ideal for heels and soles. It has a flat under side so doesn’t take up as much room, as a result you have more fabric to hold onto. Also ideal for darning baby clothes, or small areas of knitwear like mittens.
