A fitted raglan sweater with shaped neckline and trumpet sleeves. The sweater is knit in Line by Sandnes Garn and can be worked both top-down and bottom-up.
The Lyra Sweater is a great basic knit sweater with trumpet sleeves.
Construction:
From top down:
Work sweater in St-st from neck down, with inc for raglan. Start with turning rows to shape a deeper neckline, at the same time inc for raglan on back and front. Cont inc for raglan on sleeves, back and front, until at end, inc for raglan over sleeves only. Divide sts on ndl for sleeves, back and front and work each part separately. Work last section of sleeves with inc to create the elegant trumpet shape. Sweater has a snug fit with estimated movement allowance between 5 - 6 cm.
From hem up:
Work sweater in St-st from hem up with dec for raglan. Beg to work back and front in rnds until underarms. Cast on sts for sleeves, work in rnds with dec at beg for trumpet shape and cont with inc until full length. Transfer all sts to same circular ndl, and cont in rnds with dec for raglan, first on sleeves only, then dec on sleeves, back and front. At end work turning rows to shape a deeper front neckline, at the same time work raglan dec on back and front only. Sweater has a snug fit with estimated movement allowance between 5 - 6 cm.
